We are here to teach you about Fossil fuels! For further conservation of the fuels in our environment.
Further improve the conservation of fuels
Obviously this problem will kill us all
Spread the word
Save captain planet (SPOILERZ*Who is secretly already dead*)
I hope I don't die
Let alternative fuels prevail!!!
Coal, oil and natural gas are examples of things
called fossil fuels- they were made deep below the earth millions of years ago from the decomposition of plant and
animal matter.
Fossil fuels are used to make electricity because they're
widely available, cheap, easy to transport, easy to use, and the power plants can be located almost anywhere.
The
utility industry met the explosion of demand for electricity without real knowledge of the environmental impact of using
fossil fuels. When coal, natural gas or oil are burned, they release gases into the atmosphere. These atmospheres contribute
to the warming of our planet. This warming changes the natural cycles that are supposed to take place on earth. |
Fossil fuels -- coal, oil, and natural gas -- are America's main soruce of energy, it accounts for
85% of current US fuel use. Many costs include costs of using these fuels are obvious. For example the cost of labor in order
to recieve coal or the cost to drill the land for oil. However far greater costs exist that presently cannot be seen, which
include the pollution of our environment that will lead to the change of our natural cycles on earth.
Fossil fuels are non renewable resources. This means that humanity is using them faster than they are
being produced inside of our earth. This also means that one day there will be no more fossil fuels for us to use. As we have
used them so greatly and depending on their use in our society, we have no idea as to how hard it will be to find a renewable
source to draw from.
